Known as Princess of Hill Stations” Kodaikanal has been one of the most visited hill stations in India. The hill station was established in the year 1845 by Christian Missionaries and British Administrators.  Surrounded by waterfalls, picturesque sceneries and green hills the place has been attracting people who wish to enjoy a relaxing atmosphere.

The temperature here remains cool throughout the year with January, February and March being the perfect month to visit the hill station. There are many attractions here in this place where in you could spend time relaxing and enjoying attractions in here. Speaking of attractions, the best one which you could find here is the manmade lake, known as Kodaikanal Lake. Right in the centre of the city, this manmade is lake is one of the top attractions in Kodaikanal. With boating facilities, this lake has seen hordes of tourists enjoying their vacations here.

Bicycles too are available for rent, tourists could avail the benefits, if they wish to explore the city on pedals. Horses could be rented too but compared to cycle, horses are not too feasible. There is also another lake in this hill station, Berijam Lake which is the source of water for people in Kodaikanal. You can visit the lake only after you acquire special permission from the forest officer as the administrators try and keep the lake and the areas nearby to it free from pollution. If lucky, one could spot deers, bisons and panthers nearby the lake. The entry to the Berijam Lake is restricted from 9.30 am to 3.00 pm. Medicine forests, near the lake is known to have certain species of trees that emits fragrances which causes hallucinations effects on human beings
