Kodaikanal is a popular hill station in the state of Tamil Nadu. The hill station was established in the year 1845. Tourism is the one of the major source of income for people residing in here. For most of the visitors, Dolmen circle in Kodaikanal is a must visit place. Also known as portal tomb or grave can be viewed either in Perumal peak or Shenbaganur Museum. Excavators have found many brass and copper ornaments along with other artifacts and now it also attracts many tourists. Dolmen Circle dates back to as early as 5000 BC so this is an important archaeological site. Archeologists are still unsure why this Dolmens or kistavens were used as dwelling and burial places from the Stone and Iron Ages. It is an incredible piece of historic artifacts where historians are still unsure as why and how did this culture came in to existence.
