The mountain road was constructed by Lt. Coaker in the year 1872. The road runs along the steep slope of the Kodai road. The road starts near Van Allen hospital and winds up at Mount Nebo. The complete stretch provides you panoramic view of the Kodai hills. You could view the valley of the Pamba River, bird’s eye view of Periyakulam, the city of Madurai and Dolphin’s nose in the south. Here you can witness a rare phenomenon known as Brocken Spectre. It is nothing but a person can see his own shadow on the clouds with a rainbow halo.
